Un Elephante

Aqui esta un elephante!

That's right, for my Studio Art midterm I made an elephant. Because I can. I do regret, however, that I had to buy and use a pattern. I don't regret that this one turned out so well that I am in the process of making both of my sisters pink polka and blue polka dot ones, because they loved it so much. It was supposed to be for Christmas, but I got busy and then my sewing machine just broke when I finally got some time.... So we'll see when that happens....

The elephant is made from regular old cotton, mostly because I was afraid of stretching if I used a fleece (which is half the reason my sisters' are taking so long, I had to sew the fleece pieces to identical muslin pieces). I changed the pattern a little, in that I used the blue accent colour much more than it wanted me to. It just said the inside of ears and bottom of feet, but I added in the belly and trunk underside, because I thought that the blue fabric was pretty and I wanted to see more of it. Seriously, that's why I did it.

I'll post the others when I finish them! Hopefully that is sooner, rather than later. After all, Christmas kind of passed a while ago.
